Alfa at the ISMAI exhibition
As part of the INTERREG PT/ES cross-border project “Circular Labs”, Alfa was present at the Exhibition of Good Practices in Circular Economy and Upcycling.
This exhibition was open in Valladolid, Bragança and Ávila.
Alfa at the ISMAI exhibition, was available from the 2nd to the 12th of November 2021.
The theme of the exhibition was the circular economy, thus fitting into the waste of small apples that is produced by farmers due to the type of demand that the market has.
Quinta da Mua, which produces the apples, and Sidra Alfa joined in close collaboration.
In this way, studies were carried out with the various types of apples produced.
Later, they began to produce natural products such as apple cider, giving local added value to apples that were not used at first.
In this way, Sidra Alfa boosts the local economy in some sparsely populated areas of Trás-os-Montes.
In this way, it stimulates its economic growth, using local raw materials that cannot be sold as table fruit.
Sidra Alfa thus generates local work, increasing economic sustainability and adding value to the final product.
Through these two agricultural societies, the defined objective is achieved. Thus, there is no more wasting apples, taking advantage of all available resources.
Several national and international companies also participated in the event.
